Bay Area Research Logistics (BARL), a clinical trial services company announced its physical expansion into the US market with the opening of a new depot in New York State. BARL has been providing clinical supply services since 2007 for all phases of clinical trials. The new facility will better serve its clients, increase efficiency of its worldwide clinical trial services, and facilitate future growth.
The depot is strategically situated near the US/Canadian border, bolstering BARL's capabilities to service its customer’s needs. The new location will play a pivotal role in providing clinical trial supplies services across the United States and globally. This new capacity adds to BARL’s already existing walk-in cold rooms, standard and ultra-low freezers, and controlled warehousing; which provides its clients a range of temperature storage (-80°C, -20ºC, 2-8ºC, 15-25ºC) options. BARL has always demonstrated a strong commitment to innovation and growth by investing in technologies such as an electronic inventory management system and a comprehensive eQMS system.
Kaitlin Guarasci, BARL’s General Manager said, "BARL is entering an exciting phase. Our expansion aligns directly with our clients' requests and requirements, like keeping supply request lead times to a minimum, something we are known for in the industry. Our steadfast focus on client satisfaction and quality has led to consistent year-over-year growth in demand and the new depot will offer the necessary capacity to further support the research industry.”
Scheduled to open in late 2024, the depot’s activities and staff will strictly follow US regulatory requirements and will benefit from BARL’s expert Client Services and Quality teams. The expansion will further support our customers, including multi-national pharmaceutical, bio-tech companies, and investigator-initiated trials.
“Having an experienced and complementary team on both sides of the border means we can more efficiently deliver for clients, without the risk of cross-border shipping,” Guarasci said.
