Singota Solutions has opened a new 100,000 square-foot pharmaceutical storage and logistics facility in Balerna, Switzerland. Located near the Swiss-Italian border, this site enhances Singota's European operations and joins existing facilities in Basel, Switzerland (opened in 2019) and Rovello Porro, Italy (opened in 2024).
Key Features of the Balerna Facility:
- Storage Capacity: 4,000 pallet positions for temperature-controlled storage at +15-25°C. Additional storage capacities for -20°C and +5°C are expected by late 2025.
- Sustainability: Equipped with a rooftop solar power system to supplement energy from the regional grid.
- Open Bonded Warehouse: Allows streamlined handling of regulated and high-value goods while ensuring compliance and cost efficiency.
- Regulatory Certification: GDP-certified by Swissmedic, enabling import/export authorization for life science products.
Strategic Importance:
The facility strengthens Singota's global supply chain capabilities, providing scalable logistics solutions for pharmaceutical clients across development, clinical, and commercial phases. It offers enhanced regulatory flexibility, security, and optimized inventory management.
Singota plans to add nearly 50 jobs at the Balerna site by the end of 2025, further supporting its commitment to operational excellence and sustainability.
